As educators, we support high-quality research that would advance the field of education. At the same time, we must remain cognizant of our primary responsibility to the students, parents and staff whom we serve within Irvine Unified School District.
Anyone wishing to conduct research in IUSD must first submit the application found below. The IUSD Research Committee will review this application and any relevant study materials, and will approve or deny each request based on the priorities listed in the Considerations for Approval section below. The value of time and resources required by any proposal will be weighed against the value of the anticipated benefits of the research studies proposed.
If a study is approved by the Research Committee, researchers may then contact district or site administrators to solicit their participation. While Research Commitee approval is required prior to beginning any research in IUSD, each administrator has the authority to accept or respectfully decline participation based on the unique interests of their department or site.
